(under Hon'ble Chief Minister's Proclamation No. 0.634/2024.)

Location

The proposed project is situated in Kichha Assembly Constituency of District Udham Singh Nagar, Uttarakhand. The road stretch begins from Pandit Ram Sumer Shukla Government Medical College and extends up to SH-44, covering a total length of 7.255 km.

Background and Problem Statement

The road stretch from Pandit Ram Sumer Shukla Government Medical College to SH 0.44 via Atariya Mata Mandir Mod, Sidcul and Anandpur in NH 0-109 in Kichcha. The existing road section from Km 0.000 to Km 12.255 is in deteriorated condition due to Heavy vehicular movement, including commercial and industrial traffic from SIDCUL. Frequent movement of ambulances and emergency vehicles from the Government Medical College. Increasing traffic load due to urban expansion and industrial growth. Pavement distress, potholes, surface cracks, and structural failure at various stretches. The present condition of the road affects smooth traffic flow, increases travel time, and poses safety risks to commuters.

Project Concept and Need

The proposed project comprises reconstruction through Thin White Topping (TWT) from Km 0.000 to Km 12.255 on the road section extending from Pandit Ram Sumer Shukla Government Medical College to SH-44 via Atariya Mata Mandir Mod, SIDCUL, and Anandpur on NH-109 in District Udham Singh Nagar. This corridor serves as a major link connecting urban settlements and the SIDCUL industrial area. Due to substantial traffic load, including industrial and heavy commercial vehicles, pavement strengthening through TWT is proposed to enhance structural capacity, durability, and riding quality while reducing long-term maintenance requirements.
