Improvement of Tawaghat-Narayan Ashram Road,

The project is located in Dharchula, District Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand.
Background and Problem Statement
This road connects famous tourism spot Shri Narayan Ashram (Chaudas Valley) to main Tawaghat Sobla NH (BRO) and it connects Darma valley (Panchachuli Darshan) to Shri Narayan Ashram. Improvement to this road will benefit tourist to get easy access to Narayan ashram after Panchachuli Darshan and after construction of Narayan ashram to Pasti Jaykot motor road by PMGSY under phase 4, it will directly connect Vyas valley for Aadi Kailash and Om Parvat Darshan from Shri Narayn Ashram. Improvement to this road will provide a key route for disaster rescue works when Tawaghat Sobla NH (BRO) gets blocked by landslides during rainy season.
Project Concept and Need
The project is conceived to upgrade the existing road by DBM/BC and other important works like road safety, reconstruction of scupper, causeway, retaining walls, defect cutting, drain works etc. The primary objective is to facilitate seamless travel for tourists, pilgrims, and local commuters, ensuring efficient connectivity between major destinations within Uttarakhand.

The project involves the improvement of a 27.025 km Tawaghat Narayan Ashram MDR .
- Capacity Augmentation: improvement to this road will augment the traffic flow capacity, safety and ride comfort.
- Strategic Alignment: The route serves as a vital link connecting to key religious and tourist sites in the Dharchula region, including Shri Narayan Ashram (Chaudas Valley), Panchachuli Darshan ( Darma Valley) and in future Aadi Kailash, Om parvat , Lipulekh Pass(Vyas Valley) like Tourist places.
